Formed in Mid-2021 and consisting of members of other Detroit bands, Middle-Out collectively wanted to take a harder edge to their previous compositions. Having shared vocal duties, endlessly catchy chorus hooks and blistering guitar riffs, the band tops everything off with lyrical content ranging from the melancholy of work life to the bodily ravages of getting older. Contemporaries can no doubt find relatability in these words and songs.
Their 6 song debut EP ‘Bender’ was released in September 2022 - Recorded in Ferndale, MI by Chuck Huber at Drifting Sun Sound and mixed & mastered by Paul Miner at Buzzbomb Studios in Orange, CA. Accompanying their EP release is a lyric video for the song ‘Escape my Past ’ as well as a full production video for ‘Out Of Breath - If you don’t know Whirlyball, now is your chance to get educated!
As of late 2023, Middle-Out signed with Punkerton Records to put out their ‘Self-Titled’ full length. Singles and videos for the songs “Ballerinas” “It’s Not Me, It’s You” ” Not So Bad” and “Silhouette” went live prior to the full record release, which is currently streaming as of May 21st 2024.
The LP was engineered, produced and mixed by Andy Nelson of Bricktop Recordings in Chicago. He is best known for records with Gridiron, Weekend Nachos, Fireworks, and Harms Way. Once again, the band sent the tracks to Paul Miner for mastering.
Middle-Out’s ‘Self-Titled’ LP received spots on many critics and publication’s listings for “Best of 2024”
